A Hero's Persuasiveness

(Inter-)stellar persuasiveness.

From Mass Effect.

In the world of Mass Effect, ‘Sovereign’, an omnipotent alien being at least a billion years old, can influence and control the minds of lesser beings (like humans).

Sovereign brainwashes the above Saren with ease. Yet he fails to do the same to our hero, Shepard, who seems able to counteract Sovereign’s influence by by sheer force of will.

Not only that, Shepard also manages to talk Saren out of his thoughtfully-laid out world domination plans… with just a minute’s chat.

This is why heroes are heroes.
